Yarn Giveaway: Win 3 Skeins of Yarn

It’s been a few months since my last giveaway, so I felt like it was about time to do another! This time around I am giving away 3 skeins of Loops & Threads Velveteen yarn. The extra special thing about this yarn is that it is no longer in production. I was so sad to hear last year that they wouldn’t be making it anymore, as it has such a unique texture and beautiful shimmer. It has a bit of the elasticity of a t-shirt or Bernat Maker yarn, but with a delicate satin-like fabric edging that gives it an elegant sheen. It feels very fancy! The Kimberly Scarf // Crochet Infinity Scarf Pattern

This infinity scarf pattern has such an elegant and tidy feel! It uses a delicate petal or shell-like stitch for most of the body, and then is finished off with a straight, simple border. I think it gives it a very polished effect. Continue reading The Kimberly Scarf // Crochet Infinity Scarf Pattern

Extra Thick Crochet Hot Pad

hotpadcollageIf you are looking for a nice, thick hot pad, this is it! My biggest fear when using a crocheted hot pad is that it will have a hole somewhere in it that is big enough for me to get burned! And it’s a valid fear… by nature, crochet work has holes. So, when I created this pattern, preventing burns was the first thing on my mind! This pattern is DOUBLE SIDED for extra protection and incorporates two different stitches for safety, as well as beauty. I love the unique textures created by using different stitches on each side. Firework Wands Tutorial

wand tutorial2

I created these wands on accident when I attempted to make 4th of July ribbon wands and one of the spools I purchased was a wire garland. I found out they do not “flow” at all and make a terrible addition to a ribbon wand! However, they are fantastic for these fun “firework” wands! Continue reading Firework Wands Tutorial
