How To Make A Crochet Flower Garland

In this beginner-friendly video tutorial, you will learn to make a simple crochet flower garland, using basic crochet stitches and beads. The pattern is easy to adjust for sizing preferences. This is a versatile project that can be used for anything from tying in your hair to decorating your house. It is cute, bright and most of all simple! The perfect little project for Spring! (Scroll down for the step by step video tutorial)

Materials:
Any size 3 yarn in varying colors
US G/4.0 mm Hook
Beads (with large enough hole for yarn to fit through)
Scissors
Yarn Needle

Stitches Used
(ch) chain
(sl st) slip stitch
(dc) double crochet

Note on Sizing:
My finished flower garland came to almost 5 feet long. To make a longer garland, you will need to increase the length of your starting yarn.

Creating the base chain:

Cut a piece of yarn 22 feet long.

Tie one bead to the end to keep any other beads from sliding off while working.

Thread 8 beads onto the string

Chain 70.

*Pull one bead up to your hook and slip stitch around it.

Chain 20.*

Repeat from * to * 7 more times.

Chain 70. Finish off.

Create 8 Flowers

Chain 5. Join to the first chain with a sl st to create a circle (or use a magic circle if you prefer).

Ch 2. 2 dc into the circle (also crochet around your tail). Sl st. *3 dc. Sl st.* Repeat from * to * 3 times. You should have a total of 5 petals. Pull on the tail to cinch up the center of the flower to fit snuggly around the beads. Finish off and weave in ends.

Attach the flowers to the chain by placing the center of each flower around a bead.
