We all know how it goes. We start out with big plans for making scarves, hats and blankets for all our friends and relatives. But somehow there’s never enough time to make them all! However, that doesn’t mean you have to give up completely on that special feeling that goes along with making a gift yourself just because you’re running short on time. You can still give something unique and handmade. Here are some super quick and easy crochet projects that you can whip up at the last minute.
The bonus is that all these quick and easy crochet projects can be paired with something store bought to make it a well-rounded gift that doesn’t FEEL last minute, even if it is!
- Kitchen Scrubbies from Cute As A Button
This kitchen scrubby pattern is simple and quick to whip up. It is a great gift for a friend who values re-usable, or green items. It’s also a good pick for a frugal friend, as it cuts down on purchasing the disposable dish sponges!
Perfect Pair: This pattern would go perfectly with a set of matching kitchen hand towels, or tie a few together with a ribbon and a gift card to your favorite home goods store!
Shell Stitch Washcloth from Red Heart
This link appears to not be working any longer. Here is a very similar pattern from Sigoni Macaroni: Basic Shell Stitch Wash Cloth.
There are so many beautiful washcloth patterns out there! I really love this one from Red Heart. You can never have too many washcloths and it feels extra special when you know it’s handmade!
Perfect Pair: Wrap it up with a few bars of fancy, beautiful smelling soap that you picked up at a gift shop or attach a gift card to Bed Bath & Beyond!
3. Gift Card Cup Cozy from Cute As A Button
Have a friend who loves coffee? This pattern is made specifically for tucking a coffee shop gift card inside! The recipient can use the gift card and then wrap that cute cozy around their cup! This pattern also comes with a free printable download for these cute labels!
Perfect Pair: A coffee shop gift card, of course! Great for a stocking stuffer too!
4. Loofah from Daisy Cottage Designs
For a friend who appreciates the little luxuries, whip up one or two of these pretty bath loofah’s.
Perfect Pair: Package it up with some lovely body wash or a Bath & Body Works gift card
5. Towel Ring from Just Down Lemon Lane
I don’t know about you, but I can always use more kitchen towels. They’re constantly getting used and over-used. New ones are always a treat. Package up some new pretty towels with a matching towel ring or two for a thoughtful and unique gift.
Perfect Match: Package one or two of these towels rings up with a few towels and a gift card to your favorite kitchen store.
6. Wood Ring Crochet Teether from Christa Co Designs
Have a friend with a new baby? This little wooden teether ring would work up really quickly. It would be cute in a package, or as a decoration tied to the top of a package.
Perfect Pair: Match this up with a gift card to a baby store or a few cute baby outfits and any mama would be happy!
7. Snowman Gift Card Holder from One Dog Woof
Maybe you have a friend you’d like to give a gift card to, but it’s not necessarily for coffee, so you’d like a different holder than the coffee cozy above. Here is another great option for gifting that gift card in a cute and creative package!
Perfect Pair: Any gift card of your choosing! This can be given alone, tucked into a stocking, or tied on top of another gift!
I hope this list has inspired you! Merry Christmas and Happy Gifting!!

How many skeins are needed for the sand drift beanie?

Hi Laura, I used less than one skein of Lion Brand Heartland, but there is quite a bit of yardage in those skeins. 251 yards total in a skein (though I did not use the whole skein).
I like your site and the patterns seem easy to follow.
