15 Long Crochet Scarf Patterns

Collage of 15 long crochet scarf patterns.

There are quite a few different types of scarves that you can crochet – triangle, infinity, cowl, asymmetrical. But the one I will always enjoy going back to is the traditional long crochet scarf pattern. It is a classic that will never go out of style!

One of my favorite things about long crochet scarf patterns is that they are usually so simple to do. It is just a simple back and forth row, which usually means not too much counting or decreasing and increasing. This also makes it really easy to customize to the length or width you want, depending on your own preferences.

Another favorite thing about traditional long scarves is that they are usually fairly quick projects. Though there are definitely some even faster projects (think beanies or wash cloths), the scarf is still on the quicker end of the spectrum. Especially when comparing to a blanket or sweater pattern!

And lastly, I just love how the possibilities for creativity are endless. There are so many stitches out there and therefore so many possible designs for a nice long scarf. Here are just a few of the many patterns that have caught my eye, as well as a link to a Pinterest board at the end with many more! Enjoy!
